Several resorts and restaurants staged shows, including the Red Snapper, as well as the Bophut night market (see previous blog post) I visited the main stage at Chaweng Lake on Friday night, and was glad I did. It proved to be a festive affair, with food stalls for all tastes, as well as a multitude of cocktail stands, each trying to out do the other with performing cocktail-shaking, bottle-throwing, hip-girating trendy barmen.
The place was packed with local families, expats and tourists alike. The fact that there was no entrance fee to such a well organised event, can only be thanks to the list of prominent sponsors, and I am pleased to inform that this is an annual event.
Sipping a(nother!) mojito, I watched the vibe below, as the party continued down at the Jazz Festival. Lanterns and fairy lights from the beach bars lit the shoreline, and fireworks dazzled the sky.
A brilliant duo of saxaphone and percussion made it impossible to keep my feet from tapping, as I sprawled out on an oversized couch on the huge deck, taking in the sights and sounds.

I know where New Year will be spent this year!
