                        Writer's profile – Rosanne Turner

I have recently relocated to the Land of Smiles - Koh Samui, Thailand, and I'm savouring the adventure!

Prior to this, I lived in Hermanus, on the Cape Whale Coast of South Africa, famous for its land-based whale watching, where I was involved in the tourism industry, and co-own several accommodation establishments. Africa to the East is quite the culture shock, but it keeps life interesting. Read my travel blog, and share in my discoveries of all things Eastern, curious or extraodinary.

A few years ago, I rekindled a childhood passion for writing, and combined this passion with my love of travelling, to create travel articles for websites and tourism publications including the Holland Herald (in flight mag of KLM), Explore SA, GoTravel24, Hamba Kahle, Experience Overberg, Morning Calm (in flight mag of Air Korea), Smart Holidays, and Travel Intelligence. I now have a regular column, 'Discovering Samui', in the Samui Gazette.

I have not let my atrocious sense of direction deter me from travelling the world. My journeys have taken me through Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, (including Madagascar, Zanzibar, Tanzania and the Transkei) and to the Far East (including China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand).

I prefer to see the lighter side of life when travelling, viewing things from a different angle. This is depicted in my articles which often have a tongue-in-cheek approach.

I am now the Course Director of Samui TEFL. (Teach English as a Foreign Language) If you would like to find out how you can afford to travel the world, click on the Travelling TEFL page. An accredited TEFL certificate will allow you to teach English not only in Asia, but the world over. What better way to truly experience another culture, than to be immersed into its society.

Life is not a journey to the grave, with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming 'WOW! what a ride!' Anonymous
